Pak Pa Preschool (Laos)

A joint project between PoP and the NGO Community Learning International, Pak Pa preschool is in its first year of operation.
The Pak Pa community is made up of a small and very close-knit group of people. Sitting on the bank of the Nam Khan River to the North, and lush rice fields to the South, its physical beauty is stunning.
The preschool at Pak Pa just recently opened its doors to a brand new group of first-time students. Last year, these kids, ages 3-5, had nothing to do; they spent their day’s at home with little interaction or stimulus, depriving their developing brains of the tools necessary for growth.
Now, however, they spend there days here, in their school. Together they play, sing, learn and develop the cognitive and social skills necessary to feed a young mind; skills that are invaluable to their continued schooling and will ignite in them the first sparks of a life-long learner.
