Held in the Union Square Ballroom, the White Party drew over 600 guests who partied the night away with the PoP team. But this was more than another social event – it was an occasion where we celebrated the completion of the first PoP school in Pha Theung, and shared our message with our guests while having a damn good time.

At the party, our guests were serenaded with instrumental renditions of popular songs by Julliard performers, and danced to swanky beats provided by DJ Serebe Kironde of  1Oak. At the same time, information boards and photos taken by the PoP team during a trip to Laos informed our guests of PoP’s mission and goals. Hundreds of our guests took their time to write their messages of support on the Promise Wall.

While the party had tons of attractive features -the open bar (a shout out to Select Vodka for their generous sponsorship), the great tracks all night, the flashing lights, and the freshly popped PoP corn – in the end it was all about PoP’s mission, to provide education to Laotian children in developing nations. Throughout the night, so many people, too many to count, saw our volunteer badges and approached us, wanting to know a little more about PoP’s cause, and offering their money and time to support us.

Because of the generous support of our guests (that’s you), another village in Laos will be able to build an early-stage school for its children. The local construction jobs that our project will create and the connoisseurs of arithmetic that will be employed will tally up to a few hundred lives changed over the course the next few years.
