It it always exciting and inspiring when public figures stand up for a cause they believe in, and make a meaningful contribution to charities supporting the cause. Earily this month, our beloved Stephen Colbert filmed four episodes of The Colbert Report from Baghdad in support of DonorsChoose.org, an internet community that connects individual donors nationwide to classrooms in need.
The website, founded by former social studies teacher Charles Best from the Bronx, supports education by giving individuals the option to fund educational projects that teachers across the country have posted online.

Update from the field!

Today we bring you an exciting update on the progress of our pre-school in Pha Theung, Laos –  hot off the wire!
The construction is nearly complete. The local workers are painting and covering the ceiling around building. All doors and windows are installed according to building plan designed by our in-house architecture Rich.
The village’s 61 children of preschool age will be able to receive early-stage education in this building in no time. This is one of the many schools to come – get excited!

Doing good while having fun has never easier than at PoP’s White Party. Our first major awareness event had a great turnout, and we’d like to give a shout out to all of you who helped make The White Party a huge success!
Held in the Union Square Ballroom, the White Party drew over 600 guests who partied the night away with the PoP team. But this was more than another social event – it was an occasion where we celebrated the completion of the first PoP school in Pha Theung, …
